How is crypto taxed in the UK?
For most individuals, selling or swapping crypto is a disposal subject to Capital Gains Tax. Each disposal is matched first with same-day acquisitions, then with acquisitions in the next 30 days (TCGA 1992 s.106A), then with the section 104 pool (TCGA 1992 s.104). For 2026/27 Fiscaliq applies a £3,000 annual exempt amount and rates of 18% and 24%.
What does Fiscaliq calculate?
Fiscaliq calculates a full personal tax computation, not only crypto gains. It brings salary, dividends, interest, rental income and crypto capital gains into one annual summary, classifies staking, airdrops and DeFi activity, and computes company tax in the UK and US. Each figure carries the legislation or guidance it relies on.
Which countries does Fiscaliq support?
Fiscaliq supports the United Kingdom, the United States and Australia. Each country runs its own engine keyed to the tax year, with its own reliefs, thresholds and forms. The Free plan covers the UK engine; the Individual and Service Provider plans include all three. Other countries stay switched off until their rules are verified.
Does Fiscaliq give tax advice?
No. Fiscaliq provides computational tools, not personalised tax advice, and it is not an accountant, tax adviser or law firm. It applies published tax rules to the records you supply and shows its working line by line. Check your figures with a qualified tax professional before you file or rely on them.
How does reconciliation work?
Fiscaliq reconciles your records before any tax is calculated, running seven checks over the ledger. Duplicates are removed automatically only when an exchange ID or transaction hash proves them. Transfers between your own accounts are paired on amount, timing and fees, and disposals larger than your recorded acquisitions are flagged as missing cost basis.
Fiscaliq exports figures mapped to the return for each supported country: SA100 and SA108 for UK Self Assessment, Form 1040, Form 8949 and Schedule D in the US, and the Australian individual tax return. Exports download as CSV, JSON or PDF. Fiscaliq does not file for you; you transfer the figures yourself.
Is my data private?
Yes. Fiscaliq does not sell personal data. Pages are served over HTTPS, exchange API keys are encrypted at the application layer, and exchange connections are used for read-only import. Analytics cookies stay off unless you opt in, and you can exercise access, portability and erasure rights from Settings or by emailing privacy@fiscaliq.co.
How much does Fiscaliq cost?
Fiscaliq has a Free plan covering 25 transactions on the UK engine. Individual costs £29 a month or £290 a year, with unlimited transactions and all three engines. Service Provider costs £99 a month or £990 a year, including five client workspaces, then £19 a month per extra client.
Can accountants use Fiscaliq for clients?
Yes. The Service Provider plan is built for accountants, tax agents and firms. Each client gets a separate workspace, clients join through an invite link, amendments are recorded with your written justification, and client reports carry your firm's name. Five client workspaces are included, then £19 a month for each additional client.
How do I get my transactions into Fiscaliq?
Upload CSV files, connect exchanges by API key or add wallet addresses. Exports from Kraken, Binance and Coinbase are recognised automatically. Individual allows five exchange API connections and ten wallets; the Free plan allows one CSV import and manual entry of up to 25 transactions.
